On Going Treason Trial

It is intersting the trend the treason trial is taking in Liberia. Personally, I believe the president should not interfere now, but the trial should be swift, free and fair. Also, I believe there are very good reasons to look in to the alleged torture of one of the accused. This is against the backdrop that our security forces are in the habit of brutalizing citizens in the public ; so just imagine what could happen in a cell where they are not been watched. Typical example is the two prisoners that died at the police depot on Ashmun Street and the police refused for the journalist to take photos instead they were beaten and camaras seized.

Today in Liberia, everybody is so excited about promising level of infrastructure development. Everywhere old buildings are being refurbished and new ones are springing up. The roads are being rebuild and the country is coming alive once again, thank God. But let's not forget, we had roads, electricity, and buildings before. Why were they all destroyed? Some of these causes still remain.
Unless these issues are properly resolved and people are made to realize that conflict is an inherent part of society and that there are other nonviolent means by which we can resolve our differences;reconscruction might be in vain because after a protracted period of time the cycle of violence might occur again.
Let me end by saying that unless we change our mindset and that of our children by teaching them the importance of tolerance ;and to have a more positive persective of each other we are doomed.

Hi Francis I've been wondering what is the level of progress as it relates to CLCWA-Liberia . I saw a project page today for CLCWA -Nigeria but nothing for CLCWA-Liberia. Has the project really started? I really don't want my country to miss out on such a great opportunity. I am also willing to contribute my expertise and time.
I think my country needs this project the most. It will really enhance the capacity of our youths and contribute immensely to reducing illiteracy, ignorance and poverty in this country with more than 75% youth.
